About Me

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to my website Elise-Teaches.com

I am currently a Newly Qualified Teacher (post-primary) in Ireland.

I graduated from Maynooth University with a Bachelors in English and Geography in 2019 and completed my Master of Education here also!

I am using this website to document my teaching journey as well as giving you articles of advice on my experience! Additionally, I will also be inputting my health journey with autoimmune disorders and any advice I have on these too.

I was also diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis (UC), a form of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), in December 2019 during my first year student teaching, despite suffering from the disease for many years previous. This had a huge impact on my life and it was very hard to find information on the disease from a personal perspective as well as navigate life and a degree!

I aim to provide teaching support as well as raise invisible illness support and awareness.

This summer there will be a much more updated website in relation to teaching and resources as well as creating a brand new website for chronic illness! While health issues will remain a core feature of Elise-Teaches.com, I want to branch off and dive into further detail on chronic and invisible illness.
